What's Your Favorite Quote & Why?

"Be Still And Know I am God."

It never fails. Every time I hear someone say this quote or this phrase comes to mind, I am reminded how often I am speeding through the day or time in general and forgetting Who is truly in control. It makes me pause to consider a much bigger picture than getting the laundry folded or even adding a new post on my blog.

What about you? What's your favorite quote and why?

  1. One of my favorites is “What comes around, goes around”. It has proven to be true many times. I guess it is the same thing as “Do unto others”, but the first sounds more like a country song.

  2. “I am content to live in the world without busying myself with the world, to live a merely excusable life, a life that is a burden neither to myself nor to others.”-Montaigne

Perfectly describes my attitude toward life.

    • Thanks for sharing your quote. I had not heard this one before. I look forward to hearing more from you and enjoying your posts as well. 🙂

  3. That’s one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind.
    —Neil Armstrong

This is by far, hands down, the one quote I rank higher than any other I have heard. This little sentence says so much. It marks the end of a long journey to the moon by the United States, as well as marks the beginning of the long journey ahead in space for all mankind.

It also is one of the few quotes that were heard live by much of the population of the Earth. Not many events in history can say they have captivated the world’s attention, and actually have done just that.

  4. @Hank- well said. 🙂

  5. Gillean, I love the quote you gave and often use that for myself. Another I like is, “Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them.” Henry David Thoreau
